- Students need to obtain a written pass (include time) for routine clinic visits.
- Please send only students with urgent problems to the clinic during the first and last hour of the day. See list below for examples.
- No Tylenol will be dispensed the first hour of the day. This eliminates the risk of double dosing a child. Students may have been medicated prior to leaving home
- The clinic closes daily during C lunch.
Urgent Problems (Emergencies)
- Head or eye injury
- Asthma attack
- New sports injury (not injuries that occurred yesterday)
- Heavy bleeding or deep cut
- Chest pain
- Vomiting or diarrhea
- Acute abdominal pain- not an upset stomach
- Allergic reaction to bee stings, etc.
- Diabetic students that state they feel "low".
Non-Emergencies (some examples)
- Headache
- Stomach Ache
- Runny nose, sore throat, cough
- Toothache
- Minor cuts, scrapes, bruises. The nurse will supply band aids for your class.
- Bug bites
- Earaches
Students should not expect the nurse to handle everyday medical problems that should be handled at home or by there family physician.
