Parents have lots of opportunities to get involved at Bright Elementary!
Lunch with Students
Parents are welcome to have lunch with your student. Please contact Mr. Collier at least one week in advance. A background check must be on file. No outside food or drinks, please.
Classroom Parties, Field Trips & Other Opportunities
Each year, parents can sign up at the beginning of the year for classroom parties. Also, some classrooms have chaperones for field trips. There may be other opportunities to volunteer throughout the year (i.e. the 5th Grade Luau, reading viswitors, etc.) All visitors must have expanded background checks on file.
Expanded Background Checks
Sunman Dearborn Schools partner with SafeHiring to process background checks. You may complete the volunteer application for $14.95, and it is valid for 5 years. Background check applications must be done before April 1st for end of year.

Enrollment/Transfer Information
2025-2026 Enrollment/Transfer Information
Enrollment for the 2025-2026 School Year will open soon! Please select the appropriate form below to begin the process.
Kindergarten Pre-Registration- All parents or guardians of any student turning five (5) by August 1, 2025, are encouraged to preregister for Kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year. Once the form is completed, an email will be sent after Spring Break from the Principal requesting additional information. Kindergarten round-up will occur at each elementary school on May 6th from 6:00pm - 7:00 pm. Student/parent orientation will take place during the school day on August 4th and 5th.
Kindergarten Early Entry Request - Any new Kindergarten student who will not be five (5) years of age by August 1, 2025, should complete the Kindergarten pre-registration form. The Principal will email the link to any parent requesting an early entry. Once completed, the Principal will contact you to meet with you and your child for a short readiness assessment. Final early entry approval will be made by June 3, 2025.
New Student Pre-registration- Please use this form for any new student in grades 1-12 only to begin the registration process for the 2025-2026 school year. If you live in the district and would like to request to attend an elementary school that is not in your attendance area, please complete the In-District Transfer Application below. If you live outside the district, please complete the Out-of-District Transfer Application below

All in-district and out-of-district transfers must have a complete application on file each school year.
In-District Transfer Application -Please use this form if you live in the district and would like to request to attend an elementary school that is not in your attendance area. Please note - the application must be renewed each school year. The deadline to apply is May 1, 2025. All applications submitted after the deadline will be considered if class size capacity allows.
Out-of-District Transfer Application Please use this form if you live out of the district and would like to request a transfer to attend Sunman-Dearborn Community Schools. Please note - the application must be renewed each school year. The deadline to apply is May 1, 2025. All applications submitted after the deadline will be considered if class size capacity allows.
In accordance with HEA 1381, Sunman-Dearborn Community School Corporation will allow all public school transfer students to enroll in our district until the end of the school year.
